A better view with Horizontal Extensions
Horizontal extensions let you nudge your floodlight camera off the wall just enough to give you an unobstructed view. In the following example, the junction box is about 2" from the downspout elbow, and getting a good view or lighting with this restriction is virtually impossible.

Installing the floodlight camera as the manufacturer intended, with the lights on top, is not feasible. The downspout elbow will cast a vast shadow where the light is needed. Flipping it upside down, as shown, solves the lighting issue, but now the camera's coverage is compromised.
Before: The downspout blocks the entire side of the home.
After: The downspout is no longer visible, and the camera provides a full view of the driveway.
