I bought this E340 Floodlight extension as I have smaller than normal junction boxes under vinyl soffits that are also somewhat recessed 1/2 to 1 inch. The cameras were too close to the soffit that prevented the lights from moving freely and glare at night reflected off the soffit making things hard to see. Also the floodlight cameras were either crooked or not supported correctly by my junction boxes, so I bought these extensions to hopefully fix the problem. They pretty much did in the end.
By purchasing this extension, you receive a solid piece of white 3D round pipe-like support that matches the color of the E340 cameras. It is well made and nicely supports the camera. For those who don't use the metric system (those of us in the US), 100 mm is about 4 inches, 150 mm is 6 inches, and 200 mm is 8 inches. I would have liked a 50 mm or 2 inch option since it would have been a better look and fit for my camera placement, but the 100 mm worked nicely.
The extension comes with a support bar that is similar to what you get with interior lights, which is why I bought it. It allows various spacing of support screws with a junction box and my smaller box was easy to connect. There is a round metal bar that goes up the middle of the extension and connects it to the bar with nuts on each end. You get a foam gasket to seal between the extension and the junction box. There is also some additional stranded wires (one black, white, and green) you can use to extend the wiring through the extension. I wish the wires had been about 1 to 2 inches longer so I could put them through the center bar and make it look nice and neat. Two wire connectors with 3 screws each were supplied to connect between the camera and the wire extensions. I ended up using WAGO connectors instead (they are much easier to work with connecting solid and stranded wiring).
There are only two small cons I have with this product. You are supposed to get 2 self-tapping screws with each extension in order to properly screw the camera to it. I received zero screws with the 2 extensions I ordered. Support was quick and responded that they had some new help that apparently forgot to include them. The screws needed are cheap and I already had them on hand. But for the price of these things, I expected all the parts to be included. Also, a green ground screw was not included. Support told me it was not needed due to the nature of the plastic 3D model, but I still connected one to be safe (and their pictures show the green ground screen with the bar). The support bar is made of metal, so I took no chances.
Overall, the extensions did improve the look of the floodlight camera and made the install much easier to do on my weird junction boxes with weak vinyl soffits. If I ever change the cameras to something else, these extensions look like they would work better for other lights/cameras since they create a standard 4 inch junction box on the bottom. I just hope they last a long time with weather fluctuations (and by not yellowing with sunlight). Only time will tell.
