Most battery cameras ship with a bracket made for a flat wall. Vinyl and plank siding isn't flat: it's a stack of overlapping boards, and many homeowners would rather not drill into it just to hang a camera. A siding clip solves this by hooking behind the lip of one siding board, which gives you a flat surface to mount the camera on.
This guide covers how to tell which siding profile you have, which clip fits your camera, and how to install it.
Step 1: Identify your siding profile
Siding clips are shaped to fit the edge of a specific board profile, so this is the one choice that matters. Look at the bottom edge of a siding board from the side.

Wood lap siding: the Plank clip has been tested on HardiePlank. On wood boards, the clip may not hold securely if a board is warped or doesn't have a clearly defined inner edge for the clip to catch.
Step 2: Pick the clip made for your camera
Each clip comes with a mounting plate made for that camera brand. Most plates have several hole patterns, so one plate fits several models from the same brand. These models are confirmed fits:

Wider or heavier devices such as solar panels and the eufy Solar Wall Light use two or three matching clips in the profile you choose, which spreads the load. Each order includes the clips in one profile, not one of each. If your solar panel sits apart from the camera, it needs its own clip.
Step 3: Install it
- Find a spot between studs. The siding flexes more easily there, which makes it easier to slide the clip in.
- Slide the clip up behind the lip of the board until it seats.
- Slide the clip sideways toward a stud. The siding has more support near a stud, so the camera sits steadier there. The clip is held by the siding, not the stud.
- Attach the mounting plate to the clip with the included screws.
- Mount your camera on the plate the same way it goes on its original bracket.
No drilling into the siding is needed to hang the camera.
